The Government of Pakistan has introduced the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme to help people manage rising petrol prices. Under the scheme, eligible motorcycle, Qingqi and rickshaw users receive Rs. 100 per litre in petrol relief, while eligible cars with an engine capacity of up to 800cc also qualify for the subsidy. The scheme is intended to support non-commercial users, with benefits limited to one eligible vehicle per user or owner under the applicable rules.

Motorcycle and Rickshaw Relief: Eligible motorcycle, Qingqi and rickshaw users can receive a Rs. 500 fuel relief token every week, with up to four tokens per month, providing a maximum monthly benefit of Rs. 2,000. The earlier requirement to purchase at least five litres of petrol in a single transaction has been removed, so users can redeem their token for smaller quantities of fuel. Eligible motorcycles and three-wheelers registered from January 1, 2006, are covered under the revised eligibility rules, and the age limit for eligible users has been extended to 20 years.

Relief for Cars Up to 800cc: Owners of eligible cars with an engine capacity of up to 800cc can receive Rs. 100 per litre in relief on up to 10 litres of petrol every 10 days. Each token provides up to Rs. 1,000 in savings, with three tokens per month allowing a maximum benefit of Rs. 3,000. The scheme’s car benefit remains limited to the prescribed fuel quantity and token schedule.

How to Register: Eligible applicants can register by sending an SMS to 9771 using this format: REG CNIC VehicleNumber ProvinceLetter RegistrationDate. Enter the correct CNIC number, vehicle registration number, first letter of the registration province, and vehicle registration date. After registration, send TOK to 9771 according to the applicable token schedule. Once the token is received, present it at a participating petrol station to claim the eligible fuel discount.
