A tragic incident occurred in the Dir Colony area of Peshawar, where the roof of a private school collapsed, killing 35 people, including 33 children and two female teachers. More than 50 people were reportedly injured.
Rescue teams, the Pakistan Army, and other emergency services launched rescue operations to recover people trapped under the rubble. The injured were shifted to different hospitals, and some were reported to be in critical condition.
According to police officials, the school’s roof was in poor condition. Narrow streets in the area also created difficulties for rescue workers. The school owner was taken into custody, and legal proceedings were expected to follow.
